Though in its sheer size it loses some of the cohesiveness that their prior release, Church Music, boasted, it’s easy to forgive when the songs are so plentiful, diverse, and excellent. One reason I make such a grand statement is that this album is positively massive. The Crowder*Band saved the best for last, that’s for certain in fact, they might have just released one of the greatest albums ever to hit the Christian music market. It is sad indeed to think about the possibility that these incredibly gifted musicians might never make an album together again, and yet now that this hotly anticipated final album has released, it actually seems that they might never have been able to top it, at least in terms of its expansive scope. With the release of the lengthy Give Us Rest or (A Requiem Mass in C ), the Crowder*Band has said their goodbye as a band so they can move on to new chapters in their lives. Throughout more than a decade of writing and recording excellent worship music together, the David Crowder*Band has rocked the Christian music world on at least a few occasions, never strictly adhering to the norm in their music but rather always coming up with something fresh, creative, worshipful, and just downright impressive. He spoke and lighting flashed and thunder broke the quietĪ voice that called me friend in darkest of nightįall on your knees in wonder 2012 03 /25 POSTED BY Joe Zamolo CATEGORY Devotionals “Fall on Your Knees” by David Crowder*Band How amazing is that! “He spoke and stars came out…” “ And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” (Genesis 1:3) – God spoke and light was created simply at His word! Think about that for a second. How else can we respond to God but by falling on our faces? Well, if you don’t want your face to make contact with the floor then I suppose falling on our knees will do for now, surrendering our hearts and very lives to this utterly holy and gracious God.
He is infinite and holy, majestic and mighty, magnificent and brilliant… and He has made a way for wretched sinners to come to Him and be saved. Do you know of anyone else who “spoke and stars came out”? Who else can reach out his hand and make your heart “burst to life”? God does and has done these things. He is holy He is not like us or anything else. He is more marvelous, glorious, powerful, and awesome than anything else that has ever been or ever will be.
